Art tutoring /mentoring Opportunity

It's been a while, now it's  time to share again this year,  I have over 25 years  of information and gathered skill as a full time painter and I'm looking forward to meeting you.

OPEN STUDIO

Every Monday evening from 7 .00 to 8.00pm and Tuesday from 10.00am  till 12 pm, my studio is open to the public. Interested in more information about Art tuition?

All thats needed is a phone call or email to me, that's how it begins. I'm able to educate over a broad spectrum, involving the use of oils, acrylics, watercolours, airbrushing etc; the art of applying pastel, pencil, charcoal, working from real life and or photos. Guidance in applying colour and composition to any artworks undertaken and more... For more intense learning, I've found it's best to keep my groups to three or less, and yes, I do make house calls as there are many who just cant travel, but they can certainly create fabulous artwork.

In years past, I've taught students from 8 years old up to 80 years and its been so interesting and enchanting to see the untapped talents, and previously dormant skills that have laid untouched for over 70 years in some cases. If you've ever wanted to....my strongest suggestion, would be that you give it a go.

I have a studio with plenty of product to trial, as it's all needed in a full time working studio. I don't envy anyone trying to work out what they need in any art store these days and l think a guide is a good idea. Perhaps start here and get to know a bit more about the difference in some of these products, give them a try out, gather some more hands on knowledge first.  So come and get an idea where to start if your a beginner. If you've been playing in this art world for a while, perhaps frustrated at not getting to levels you desire, l may be able to advance you a few years in sharing my experience, and help you through, it is a journey, of time, observation and experimentation. Come and meet me to see if you are at a level that l can help you along.

I am available to tutor larger groups and these can be designed to your specific group needs, in any case just call to chat.

Creating Artwork For You

Most of my work is commissioned Artwork. It is important that my perspective client realizes the time these works can take and also to consider, I will have bookings in front of yours, so please don't leave the decision to have something done till the last minute. I would recommend thinking about events 6 months to a year before the due time.

Currently, the commissioned works l have underway involve the smallest detail on Portrait paintings, no larger than my thumb, to horse teams, the size of my hand, right through the full range of antique Sawblades, where l am often asked to work from peoples photographs and verbal memories sometimes involving an immense amount of detail. These works are typically created on canvas' as well.

These will vary in size and are totally dependant on my clients request, I am able to accommodate almost anything. More recently Larger Murals are the go and they are popular and l must admit, I'm rather enjoying it. It is a welcome break away from that magnifying Glass and to see the BIG picture.

See the works under Outdoor Murals

Amongst all this l make time to create my 'own' works, that gather in my head . This is  very important to me to express my own passions within the visual Art world, and to be true to my own  Artistic journey, one that continues to thrill me year into year. My thirst for knowlege and skill ever growing.

Original Artworks / Commissions

Julie Oliver is most often commissioned to paint original artworks in the form of murals,  acrylics,  watercolours on archival papers, oils onto canvas,  and metal of many sorts, including an array of all sorts of historic sawblades. These blades sometimes belong to your clients or she will work from a rather large selection of her own that have been acquired over the last 8 years or so.

Original artworks can be painted on request, please contact Julie. The delay time is dependent on the current list of works in my to do list
